Monday Mindset: No Such Thing As Closure

We have to remember that we will never get the closure we desire and deserve from toxic people. Each time we go back and re-open those doors and rationalize it as “seeking closure,” we greatly delay our healing process. It hurts to leave the toxic people we love, and because we never get closure from them, we hurt even worse. What we have to remember is that if we’re hurting and feeling our feelings of grief after leaving them, we are in the process of healing. Do not let your climb of grief up Mount Everest be wasted on giving them one more chance at offering you some sort of closure. You will lose all the work you put into your climb and crash to ground zero. Starting over is the worst pain of all because each time we fall back down and go back, the grief we experience each time only gets deeper and it takes us longer to heal. Cry it out for as long as you need to, but whatever you do, don’t go back. The climb up Mount Everest is no joke, and it’s a climb a heartless person would never take. The greatest way to get closure is to keep climbing, to move on and be happy.

  1. Wendy says:

Absolutely what I needed. Couldn’t quite put my finger on why “this time” hurts even more. I’m deeper in the shadowlands and feel more raw and defeated as ever. I need to make this the end.
